The University Library holds a significant number of Special Collections which will be of interest to researchers both locally, nationally and internationally. The Special Collections comprise both manuscript and rare published material and are held separately from the main stock in the University Library.

Access conditions will vary depending on the Collection you wish to consult and the campus on which it is located. Users are advised to contact the relevant member of staff in advance to allow adequate time for material to be retrieved and made available.  All visitors to the Collections will be asked to sign in and provide their staff/student identification card. Visitors from outside Institutions are asked to provide a letter of introduction from their home Institution. The Collections will normally be available during the hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Appointments to view material may be made by telephone, email or post.

Further details are available from the Special Collections webpage.
